Refurbishing a dental practice can be a challenging task, but with our help, Syed Yusef Moazzam Ali was able to carry out a comprehensive basement-to-attic refit. The aim was to modernise and improve the functionality of the space for the benefit of both staff and patients.
We presented plans and designs promptly and tailored equipment suggestions to the practitioner's needs.
Our solution included a glass-enclosed entrance, reception desk, flooring for two surgeries, Heka Unic chair for one surgery, replacement cabinetry for the other surgery, new suction and compressors, air conditioning for the entire building and a best-practice compliant decontamination and sterilisation room with all required equipment.
We were able to deliver the project on time and on budget, leaving the practitioner with a modern, efficient dental practice that met his needs.
Refurbishing one's dental surgery is a decision that cannot be taken lightly. There is the disruption, that will naturally occur as well as the disorganisation in a normally clean and clinical environment.
Thankfully, upon recommendation from other colleagues, I worked with Eclipse Dental technicians on my project. I liked that Eclipse were a family owned and run business, identical to my own surgery that was set up by my father nearly 50 years ago and currently employing 3 members of my family and staff that have been loyal to us and with us for up to 30 years.
At the initial planning stages, Eclipse were always accommodating of any requests and would always go the extra mile. They came back with plans and designs promptly, and were never pushy in their equipment suggestions. I never felt like I was dealing with sales people, more enthusiastic partners who wanted the solutions that were right for me. When it came to the removal of my old equipment and installation of my new equipment, they were beyond efficient. They also work with excellent and professional partners and also my choice of trades people upon request.
With eclipse, I carried out a more or less basement to attic refit of the surgery, including: glass enclosure entrance, reception desk, flooring to 2 surgeries, Heka Unic chair to one surgery, replacement cabinetry to one surgery, new suction and compressors and air conditioning to the entire building and a 'best practice' compliant decontamination and sterilisation room including all equipment for this. Whilst a project of this size will always encounter hiccups, with Eclipse, they were few and far between and all were dealt with efficiently and speedily. I just wish to thank Eclipse for their stress free and excellent service.
Heka dental chairs were suggested to me by my surgery engineers, Eclipse dental when planning my new surgery refurbishment. Whilst I had no experience with Heka in the past, after viewing their chairs online and company ethos, I was more than impressed.
They are based in Denmark, known for its style and originality when designing furniture - think Jacobsen, Panton. They are however perfectionists with the technical elements of their equipment. Their product information also clearly explained the lengths they go to to research and implement excellent ergonomic features in to their dental chairs.
After my own initial research in to Heka, I decided to visit them at their factory and showroom in the outskirts of Copenhagen. What struck me was their friendliness and hospitality and attention to detail in a spotless factory and production line. Most parts are made in Denmark or Germany, and Heka both design and manufacture their own electronic parts inside the chairs.
This was reassuring as whilst mechanical problems can be fairly easy to diagnose and fix, electronic problems can be hugely troubling and complicated with dental chairs. As all the electronic elements are made in house at Heka, I trust that they would know exactly what is wrong, should there ever be a problem.
I was also won over by the build quality of Heka chair. My Unic is mostly made of cast aluminium, stainless sheet and milled stainless steel, and there are no plastic bits that I feel could break. The chair is also extremely comfortable with its memory foam seat, something which most patients notice.
I have been using the chair for around 4 months now, and other than the adjustment required by myself to its new more ergonomic working style, I have been more than happy. I find myself working more efficiently and in a far more comfortable position than in the past.
I couldn’t recommend Heka chairs more highly and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.
