D. H. Keen Dental Surgery was established in 1984 in the heart of Lee. Founded by Dr David H Keen, the Practice has been continuously providing a wide range of dental treatments for both adults and children. At D. H. Keen Dental Surgery Partnership, they offer a variety of treatments and aim to maintain a high standard of care at all times.
This project, for Dr R. S. Raajanathan, Dr Thanusha Selvadurai Raajanathan and Dr David H Keen was completed back in 2020, during lockdown. Images were taken recently and it all still looks as good as new. The fit-out was to locate a CBCT machine within one of the surgeries, consequently some adjustments to the layout of the practice would be needed.
We refurbished surgery 1 with an Ancar S1S ambidextrous chair package, Magic area light, new flooring, cabinetry and a slightly different layout. The air conditioning unit was also relocated.
Surgery 2 had to be reconfigured to increase its size. To achieve this we moved the partition wall which also created a more spacious reception and corridor. New flooring was fitted to the surgery, reception and corridor and the walls were adapted to specialist lead lining for the use of x-rays.
A Heka dental chair, wall mounted operating light and Acteon CBCT scanner were installed in the surgery, along with a suction manifold mounted on the new cabinetry and a mobile cart which made a very flexible and simple equipment set-up.
"Taking over an existing practice is not easy as you think, as there are few things you would want to change. In our case we had to completely revamp the surgery as we were converting a general dental practice to be a specialist practice. We had to add in another surgery and a fit CBCT machine.
