The project centred on converting a large reception, office and waiting area into a new surgery, alongside creating a redesigned reception and waiting space.
A key requirement was keeping the practice operational throughout the works, requiring careful planning and phased construction to minimise disruption.
Working around the day-to-day operation of the practice, we delivered a complete refurbishment that transformed the front of the building while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff. Existing partitions, flooring and the old reception were removed, before the new surgery, reception and waiting area were formed within the reconfigured space.
The works included adapting and repairing the existing solid ceilings, plastering new walls, installing new lighting, X-ray wiring, data cabling and plumbing for the surgery.
Radiation shielding was added with lead lining to the surgery wall, and air conditioning was installed to improve comfort.
The new surgery was finished with Gerflor Metallica clinical flooring with cap-and-cove detailing, while the corridor and reception were fitted with luxury vinyl planks.
The reception desk was designed with high and low-level sections to support both staff use and patient accessibility.
